PESHAWAR: Large scale work is being done for the development of forests and wildlife in Dera Ismail Khan under the Billion Tree Tsunami Program.
Under the project, a vast forest has been planted on an area of 360 hectares in Dhap Chibak area in which more than four lakh plants of different varieties have been planted and on an experimental basis 10 kanal area of pravacadu fruit trees are also part of the forest.
Prime Minister Imran Khan also visited Dhap Chibak Forest under the Billion Tree Tsunami Project and planted a rubber plant which is growing rapidly. Secretary Forest Department Environment and Wildlife, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Abid Majeed Visited and planted avocado fruit under spring tree planting.
Chief Conservator Forest Gulzar-ur-Rehman and Shahid Noor Divisional Forest Officer gave a detailed briefing on tree planting under Billion Tree project in DI Khan. The Secretary Forest also inspected the Deer Breeding Senator on the occasion of his visit to Dera Ismail Khan where Khan Maluk DFO while briefing the Secretary said that 16 female deer and 6 males while 3 young deer calves are enjoying the natural environment at the breeding center. The Forest Secretary directed the Wildlife Administration to open the breeding center to the public so that they could have a better time. He directed to plant more trees in the center under Bullion Tree project so that deer could have more natural environment. Secretary Forest Muhammad Abid Majeed visited the nursery at DFO office where different varieties More than half a million plants are ready to be planted across the division under the Billion Tree project.
He also inaugurated the newly constructed joint check posts of Forest Department and Wildlife at DI Khan.
